Story

Today, there is too much of a ‘take-make-waste’ mentality, which causes devastating environmental impacts. Garments now account for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions. On average, we buy 60% more clothing than we did 15 years ago, and it is estimated that nearly 60% of all clothing produced ends up being burned or in landfills within one year of being made.*

But it doesn’t need to be like this. How many times have we deemed a garment as useless if it has a small hole or stain on it? Have you ever thought about getting a badge to cover it up and make it new again?

At Badge, we’re on a mission to show people the opportunities they have by making something new again. Pins and patches are an amazing way to make something not so basic, show your personality, and create something that’s totally unique to you.

Badge started in 2017 in Canada as an independent pin and patch store. The idea for Badge came from constantly seeing people wear the same things – basic tees, plain bags, simple hats. There is no personality in basic!

Over the years, we’ve watched the community of fellow pin and patch makers grow, and realized there wasn’t one place for us all. So Badge is now on a mission to create the world’s largest one-stop-shop for thousands of badges and vendors. Our goal is to give pin and patch makers a better platform and to come together as a community to share visions and make this world a more expressive and less polluting place.
